Before the formation of Toto its members worked as session musicians for Steely Dan[3] Seals, Crofts[4] Boz Skaggs, Sonny and Cher. Five guitarist Steve Lukather is the band's singer.
About Toto
Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also well-known studio musicians with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. Taking their name from the Latin word meaning "all inclusive," the group was intent on exploring all styles of music.
In 1981 the third album by Toto Turn Back is a failure however, they bounce back with their fourth release Isolation that features two hits, including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour helped them become a household name across the globe.
After a hiatus of a few years, Toto return with the album Fahrenheit in 1986. The album is an departure from the ballads on previous albums, and also features some heavy rock. This was their first platinum album in North America.
When they record the band's fifth album, the band loses their manager and are put in financial difficulty. They decide to change their name and create a new album with the new producer. The lead singer Fergie Frederiksen is let go and replaced by Joseph Williams, son of the legendary film composer John Williams and 1950s actress Barbara Ruick. Joseph Williams is a natural frontman, and gives the band a much-needed boost.
The band releases Mindfields in 1999 and embarks on a huge tour around the world. After a few weeks in Europe The band then travels to Japan for 첫가입 꽁머니 sold-out shows. After a short break, Toto resumes recording and continues to record their first live album titled Absolutely Live in 1993 which includes the cover of Weezer's track Hash Pipe in response to the band covering their hit Africa during a recent tour. Toto's touring lineup includes drummer Lenny Castro and bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem Von Schroeck.

The first album by Toto was the self-titled Toto which was released in 1978. The album was a huge success and catapulted toto into international fame. Since then, the group has released 14 albums that are also hits.
Toto composed their first and only film score in 1984 for the film Dune. It was a huge project, and the entire group had to be involved. Kingdom of Desire was another successful album. After a world-tour, Bobby Kimball quit the group. He was replaced by Fergie Frederiksen, formerly of Le Roux. The band then forged ahead with their fifth album, Isolation. The album contained a variety of songs that were hits, like "Stranger in Town".
After Isolation, Toto took a break from the spotlight and went on hiatus. The band members of the group a chance to pursue solo projects. In 1996, the band returned to tour and release an album. This was the first time all of the original members were on stage together for over 10 years.
The following year, Toto toured with Ringo Starr's All Starr Band. This was the final time that the original Toto members Toto were performing together. The group broke up after this. Toto returned for a benefit concert in 2010 to raise funds for the ALS Foundation. It was the first time all of the original Toto members had been performing together for more than 31 years. The original Toto members were joined by keyboardist Greg Tambu who filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate who filled in for Shem von Schroeck.

Despite their fame The group faced a few difficulties in their later years. In 2002, keyboardist David Paich and drummer Greg Phillinganes were forced to take a medical leave of absence. Shem von Schröeck took over however the band was not the same without Paich or Phillinganes. In 2008, a string of lineup changes and a series of disappointing releases prompted Toto to call it quits for a couple of years. Toto returned to touring in 2012 following the release of the album 40 Trips Around The Sun.
The album marked a return to form for the band and the tour was accompanied it with sold-out shows across North America and Europe. Toto's reunion gained momentum with the return of bassist Shem Von Schroeck and guitarist Steve Lukather.
Toto's music remains the same today as it was back in the 1970s and 1980s, gaining new fans with each new generation. Their success has made them a constant fixture in pop culture, and their live performances are always filled with energy and excitement.
